Current Prayer Requests
December 4th, 2008CHINA. After writing an essay about her newfound faith in Christ, a bright young student was asked by her teacher to stop talking so much about Jesus. She was told that it could compromise her opportunities to receive a government scholarship given to impoverished students. Although she knew that she needed the money, she chose to be true to Christ. Pray for Christian students throughout China who are in similar situations, asking that they will remain faithful to God, trusting Him to provide for their every need.
CHINA. Worldwide economic woes have impacted China with concerns that many of the 6.1 million Chinese students due to graduate from college in mid 2009 will be added to the 4 million unemployed graduates of recent years. Pray that millions of well educated young adults facing job insecurity will seek and find the true purpose of life.
CHINA. When sharing the Gospel in an environment that is unfriendly to Christianity, one must seek to find balance between boldness and caution. Pray that all who are proclaiming Christ’s name in China today will rely on the Holy Spirit working within them to find that balance.
CHINA. It has been said that if something “bugs you” in your home country, it will “elephant you” overseas. Pray today Christian workers in China who are challenged by home repairs that are greatly needed, internet access that is sporadic, language skills that aren’t quite yet up to par, lines that don’t move as fast as they hope, and other everyday occurrences that could easily “elephant them”. Ask that they will keep their eyes on Him and their hearts on His purposes.
CHINA. Please pray that God will use university student volunteers serving in various China locations during the Christmas season. They will share the love of Jesus through relationships, Christmas parties, English classes, drama presentations, and in many other special ways. Pray that as they are used to impact lives for eternity, many of them will also grow in their understandings of God’s purposes in their lives.
