The Chinese People
• China is home to 1.3 billion people.

• The largest people group in China is the Han Chinese, comprising 93% of the population.

• In addition to the Han, there are 495 ethno-linguistic minority groups in China. 

• With almost 20 million births per year, more people are born in China annually than live in New York State.

• China is the most populous nation in the world, and despite the phenomenal growth of the church, it still has the largest number of lost people.

• The country is comprised of 21 provinces, five autonomous regions, four special municipalities, plus Hong Kong and Macau.

• China has 172 cities with one million or more people.

• The official religion is atheism, but the practical religion is materialism.

• There is a swift pace of church growth.  Possibly up to 100 million Chinese are Christians.
