Mudanjiang,
Heilongjiang Province
(mu-tan-chiang)
A small community until the 20th century, Mudanjiang began its modern development when it was connected to the railway in 1908. The city is known throughout China for its production of rubber, timber, and paper. Mudanjiang is also one of China’s major beet growing regions. The city is one of the best-known tourist cities in northeast China. Neighboring the city of Harbin in the north and bordering Russia in the east, it attracts millions of visitors from home and abroad each year with its enchanting views of mountains and waters. Mudanjiang is home to about 1 million people. Located in the Northeastern Province of Heilongjiang, Mudanjiang has a Christian population of only 2%.
Pray that the Christians who are living in this city will have a passion to share their faith with those around them and that they will be encouraged to stand firm in their faith even in the midst of ridicule and persecution. Pray for the people of Mudanjiang to see their need of salvation and to be open to accepting the unconditional love of the Savior. |
