Xiangfan, Hubei Province
Located in the northwest of Hubei Province, Xiangfan is not only the largest center of economy, commerce, and trade in Hubei, but it is also a famous cultural and historical city, boasting of 111 historical relics, including an antique city wall. Xiangfan also has many natural sites, such as beautiful mountains and rivers, which have boosted domestic and foreign tourism. With a population of over 2 million, Xiangfan is known as "the strategic passage of the north and the south and a thoroughfare of seven provinces." One river, two airports, three railways, convenient highways, and smooth telecommunications are making Xiangfan nearer and nearer to the outside world. The favorable geographic location, abundant natural resources and the practice of reform and opening to the outside world have established Xiangfan as the economic center of several major provinces. As the people of Xiangfan have sought so hard to develop new roads and means to become more open to the outside world, gospel inroads are still greatly needed. Only 0.52% of those living in Xiangfan are Christians. Please pray that the remaining residents will be made aware of their need for the Savior, will hear the Good News, and will receive Christ.
